Psychotherapist, therapist

Sarah Azanor (she/her), RP(Q)

Providing in-person, online and phone sessions (Accepting new clients)

Approach: While I am person-centred at my core, I take an integrative approach to therapy and draw from different modalities depending on what each person needs. This includes Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), attachment-based and trauma-informed approaches. Rather than working from a single model, I adapt my approach to fit the person in front of me, focusing on what feels most helpful in the moment.

I approach life with openness and empathy, shaped by a deep interest in how people grow, heal, and make meaning from their experiences. I offer a collaborative, person-centred space where clients can feel safe enough to slow down, make sense of what they’re carrying, and explore what change might look like for them. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real relationship, grounded in trust, curiosity, and respect for your lived experience.

In my work, I often explore how past experiences, relationships, identity, and environment shape the way we relate to ourselves and others today. I pay close attention to patterns that keep people feeling stuck, whether that shows up in relationships, self-worth, emotional regulation, or burnout, and support clients in building new ways of understanding and responding to themselves.

Areas of Focus:

  • Anxiety and overthinking
  • Depression and low mood
  • Trauma and complex trauma
  • Addiction
  • Relationship patterns and interpersonal difficulties
  • Attachment wounds and fear of abandonment
  • Self-esteem, self-worth, and self-criticism
  • Emotional regulation and coping skills
  • Boundaries, people-pleasing, and assertiveness
  • Stress, burnout, and overwhelm
  • Identity exploration and life transitions
  • Interpersonal skills and communication challenges
  • Immigrant and cross-cultural experiences
  • Grief, loss, and adjustment

I have a strong interest in how culture, family systems, and lived experience shape emotional well-being and identity. As an immigrant who has lived across multiple countries, I understand how complex it can feel to hold different parts of yourself across different spaces. I aim to create a culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed environment where clients feel seen in the fullness of who they are.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you have been managing things on your own for a long time. My goal is to meet you where you are, move at a pace that feels safe, and support you in building clarity, connection, and a stronger sense of self. At the heart of my work is the belief that healing is possible when people feel seen, heard, and valued. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you as you move toward clarity, growth, and self-discovery.

Education and Background: I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I hold a Master of Arts in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy from Martin Luther University College and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology from the University of Guelph-Humber.

Alongside my formal education, I have experience working in community mental health and supporting individuals navigating trauma, housing and life instability, addiction, systemic barriers, and barriers to accessing care. These experiences continue to inform my relational, trauma-informed, and systems-aware approach to therapy.
